The Greater Boston Food Bank

Organizational Awardee

The Greater Boston Food Bank works to end hunger across Eastern Massachusetts through large-scale food distribution and targeted programs for children, seniors, and low-income residents. During the November 2025 federal government shutdown which disrupted SNAP benefits, the organization rapidly scaled operations, increased fresh produce and Family Meal Box deliveries, and supported partner agencies to meet surging demand. GBFB is the engine that drives the hunger-relief system in Eastern Massachusetts, changing people’s lives for the better by narrowing the food access gap for 600,000 people every month.
