For eight years, Kansas City Heroes has served meals to people experiencing homelessness in Kansas City every Tuesday without missing a week. What began with 13 people has grown into a grassroots volunteer network serving as many as 300 or more people at Washington Square Park, powered by community partners and donors rather than regular funding. Beyond providing meals, KC Heroes helps connect people with permanent housing and inspires those it serves to become volunteers themselves, demonstrating how small, sustained acts of kindness can grow into a powerful network of mutual support.
