Pay-It-Forward Awardee

Outback Strong is a nonprofit organization established in January 2025 after transitioning from a hospital-based model. The organization’s community-centered approach focuses on offering outpatient and telehealth services to improve mental health and well-being across several rural areas in Oregon. Its work is grounded in a commitment to inclusivity, cultural respect, and collaboration, emphasizing that seeking care and supporting one another are strengths rather than weaknesses. By combining clinical services with a strong community identity, Outback Strong plays a central role in advancing health, connection, and well-being across a rural region while addressing complex challenges.

Awarded to:

Individual award recipients are not eligible for a grant, but can “pay it forward” by recommending a values-aligned organization to receive a grant. When an individual receives a “Pay It Forward” award, they are invited to recommend a grant to a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in their community that is aligned with the values of the project. “Pay It Forward” recipients are typically awarded to one or several individuals for personal acts of courage
