Tegan Rowley
Pay-It-Forward Awardee

Tegan Rowley is a U.S. Air Force veteran, licensed professional counselor, and co-founder of the Wounded Healer Project, a Colorado-based organization focused on empowering veteran mental health providers to serve marginalized veterans and reduce veteran suicide. Under her leadership, the Wounded Healer Project has connected veterans to care through therapeutic groups, crisis counseling partnerships, and programs for the incarcerated. Rowley’s approach emphasizes dignity, shared experience, and trust, helping veterans process trauma, rebuild purpose, and successfully reintegrate into their communities while strengthening broader systems of care and recovery.

Individual award recipients are not eligible for a grant, but can “pay it forward” by recommending a values-aligned organization to receive a grant. When an individual receives a “Pay It Forward” award, they are invited to recommend a grant to a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in their community that is aligned with the values of the project. “Pay It Forward” recipients are typically awarded to one or several individuals for personal acts of courage
